We understand that the transition from living at home to living in a care environment can be difficult and so our dedicated care team is always on hand to provide support and reassurance to residents and families alike.
We endeavour to provide the highest standards of care to our residents, maintained by continuous review and assessment. Mrs. Hardman, the Registered Manager, has over 25 years experience caring for individuals with physical and mental disabilities in both the young and the elderly and holds NVQ qualifications in caring and management.
Each resident has their own care plan, tailored to their individual requirements, which is reviewed regularly and updated as their needs change. Families are welcome to read and discuss care plans at any time.
Because our home becomes the residentís home, there are no restrictions on family visiting times.
Disrict Nurses provide nursing care where appropriate and when medical care is needed, the care manager will request a visit from the residents own GP.
Opticians and podiatrist visit regularly at no extra cost and care staff are happy to accompany residents to any medical appointments outside the home.
 
Respite Care
 
 For carers who are looking after someone at home, we are happy to provide respite care for a shorter or longer period of time to enable them to take a holiday or just a well earned rest.
Leisure
 
Social events are arranged within the home including musical entertainers, film shows and various indoor games where families are welcome. Gentle aerobic exercise and reminiscence therapy are held weekly for those who wish to participate or residents can always enjoy a quiet game of cards or dominoes.
 Outings are arranged for those wishing to participate.
Catering
 
Sunnyside recognises the need for nutritionally balanced meals and our excellent catering staff make every effort to meet the needs of the individual.
Residents can choose to take their meals either in the dining room or, if they prefer, in their own rooms and beverages and snacks are served throughout the day.
Hairdressing
 
A hairdresser visits the home once a week but residents are welcome to arrange their own hairdresser to visit if they prefer.
